The Process

As the natural evolution of traditional low pressure RTM, HP-RTM produces fully cured composite parts in times ranging from less than 2 minutes and up to 5 minutes, depending on the selected chemical and process parameters.

The process consists of injecting a multi-component mixed thermosetting or thermoplastic matrix into a closed mold in which a dry reinforcement preform has been previously placed, and where a vacuum has been applied.

After the polymerization time, the mold is opened and the finished part is extracted.

These processes obtain high performance structural parts by directly combining reinforcement and matrix. The in-line high pressure impregnation allows producers to minimize raw material costs.

This process is perfectly fit with complex 3D geometries and long fiber reinforcement.
