The Process

Reinforcement is placed in the mould together with possible inserts ( composite parts, wooden inserts etc),  with flow media, peel plies and vacuum bag.

After the layup is completed, vacuum is created through a vacuum system.

Once the vacuum is stable, resin port is opened and the layup is impregnated.

Features and advantages

Infusion is a consolidated process in composites industry for the production of the most diverse products and is typically applied to high performance composites with low to medium production volumes. It allows to avoid the use of large presses thanks to its low injection pressures.
