Forming of high performance thermoplastic prepregs

The Process

Although the process parameters and forming technique is linked to each specific material, the process strategy always has the material heated, handled ad formed in closed mould under pressure. These operations are often carried out in parallel, in order to increase the productivity.

Features and advantages

Thermoplastic composites have distinct advantages over thermoset, such as high ductility and toughness, bonding and recycling potential, low cycle times. Many applications require high volume industrial processing of pre-cut sheets of composites with matrices as PA, PPS, PEKK, and PEEK.ent.
